Lost in the Dance

The hair along his neck sways like water...

One step. Two step. Now cross. His slender white legs twist to fit the movement. Crossed in front, steady in the back. One step. A foreleg rises suddenly and pauses mid-step. Two step. The other rises while the first falls. His movements are quick, solid, frozen; beautiful. Now cross. Yet again the forelimbs cross; displaying their perfection and flexibility. One step. The routine starts again. Two step. His head barely moves. Now cross. The hair along his neck sways like water; shimmering. One step. He knows this dance perfectly. Two step. It’s become him and he breathes it.

Atheil and Aneri

Creating the Scàduin – Part 2

Hey all! I’ve brought Aneri back and joining him is Atheil. Aneri and Atheil are going to assist me in creating the physical description of the Scàduins. This may or may not be as long as Aneri’s post on naming, but I guess we’ll find out. To start, we (me, Aneri and Atheil) are going to explain how I got the idea for what the Scàduin look like.

I’d like to introduce you to Aneri...

Creating Aneri – Part 1

Hello everyone! I’d like to introduce you to Aneri; one of my most recent characters.  Aneri is the first of his race and thus has the honor of being my “Guiney pig” while I figure his people out. I’m going to attempt to write a few posts as I develop his character and his race: the Scàduin. To start, I’m going to talk about how I named Aneri.

Dim, flickering street lights attempt to light my path...

Water runs down my face. Not tears. I’m not crying. The sky is crying for me. Splish. Splash. Go my running feet. A rumble cuts the night and a glow appears above. High above. Where the looming city towers do not reach. Cold in their steely, reflective glare. Dim, flickering street lights attempt to light my path. I wish they would burn out. Darkness is my friend this night.

Part 1 – Movie Composers

Sometimes, all a writer needs is an image or a sound to create. Something to spark their inner creativity. But we all know that songs with lyrics can be the nemesis of writers. I’ve heard plenty of stories about writers who accidentally write down the words of the song they’re listening to. So that leaves us with instrumental songs. The question is; where can I find good instrumental music that actually inspires me? Let me introduce you to the spectacular world of original soundtracks (OSTs). OSTs are the background music for movies and games and we all know how amazing some movie and game soundtracks came be.

I’ll Come Back

The blossoms remind me of him. Vibrant... Resilient... Red...

She stood alone in the barren field. The tall, brown grass around her was cracked and frozen by winter’s kiss. Dainty, white flakes dotted the sky as she waited; the bite in the air turning her nose and fingers red. She held a few stocks of a flower in her hand. Its red blooms were shut tight from the cold and as large as a penny. Their red matched her plaid jacket; the one with the cozy, black interior. Locks of short black hair framed her Asian face. With slender fingers, she caressed the frozen blooms.

My Dear, You Are More Than…

As of right now, Tenth Avenue North is at the top of my favorite bands. God seems to have given them the insight to write about things close to my heart. I find myself looking inside whenever I listen to their songs.

Founding a City

•December 7, 2010 • Leave a Comment

I’ve never had the pleasure of officially founding a city before. Except for the occasional one in my stories and those are the ones that got me thinking. What does it really take to found a city? What steps need to be taken? What processes are involved? And I’m still talking about fantasy cities here. Medieval fantasy. With these questions in mind, I set out to create and develop my cities on a deeper scale…

…With no time to Spare for life.

Three weeks left of school! Until then I’m confined to my books (the ones I’m not very interested in reading) and will have to restrain myself from updating this and my website.

So this is the last time you will hear from me for a while. Once school is done and over, my website and this place will get a make-over of extreme proportions! Start thinking of the color green…

The Beginning!

Well, this is technically before the beginning, because there’s still quite a bit to be done before the actually beginning.

I’ve got a place-holder template up. I should have my template up as soon as I figure out how to code it. I’ve also got to figure out exactly what I’m going to write about on here. It going to be related to writing, you can be sure of that.
